The following are the core responsibilities of the Practice Nurse & Data Analytics Lead:

  • Be responsible for successful delivery of secondary screening and release clinics
  • To that effect, trained in Immunisations and Vaccinations, and Phlebotomy to enable delivery to the ‘One stop shop’ model.
  • Ensure that all new patients are appropriately coded on SystmOne and disease register is accurate. This includes liaising with community GPs and ensuring the information is correct.
  • Creating and managing a clinical outcome dashboard to ensure that LTC is effectively managed
  • Ability to analyse large volume of data with the view to assist Healthcare Operations and improve service delivery
  • Actively involved in clinical audit, effectively utilising the audit cycle.
  • Assisting the nursing team providing guidance and training when necessary, in the use of SystmOne Templates and related systems
  • Responsible for accurate data collection and produce reports for key meetings as directed by the Head of Healthcare
  • Lead on GP2GP integration into the Prison
  • Lead on Telemedicine integration and close working relationship with the Acute Hospital with a view to reducing escorts to hospital
  • Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
  • Support and participate in shared learning within the practice.
  • Continually review clinical practices, responding to national policies and initiatives where appropriate.
  • Drives the development of nursing services within the practice, liaising external agencies and professional organisations as required.
  • Engage in CPD/Clinical Supervision to maintain and further develop competence in level of prescribing

Essential

  • Valid NMC registration RGN
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills
  • Experience in running clinics in prisons
  • Relevant experience in Prison Healthcare and clear understanding of women’s needs in Prison
  • Phlebotomy and Vaccinator training
  • Relevant IT qualification and further IT system training
  • Expertise in using SystmOne as a Super User
  • Commitment to the delivery of high-quality services
  • Understands the importance of evidence-based practice

Desirable

  • Mentorship/ ENB Qualification or working towards
  • Clinical Supervisor
  • RCA Trained
  • Long-term Conditions Management Training
