OUR CHARTER
Our purpose
Our aim is to build a new community which is free to join for all those displaced in the food service market due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the devastating affect it has had on our industry. Whilst in the early stages this community will be virtual, in time we anticipate that more face-to-face gatherings and events will be viable.
With the backing of our supporting companies and many businesses within the food service market, the purpose of the Community is:
- To ensure that everyone who has been affected still feels in touch with their industry colleagues and employers, and not feel forgotten or out of touch whilst we wait to see how the market recovers over the coming months
- To give employers access to a ‘honeypot of talent’ when they are able to re-recruit employees who they sadly had to let go due to the pandemic
- To provide online training, for example to help those that will not have updated a CV or attended an interview for many years
- To give members of the community access to subject matter experts and leaders for coaching, mentoring and support
- To give individuals a higher degree of visibility and profile than they might currently have in their own particular network
Our goals
It is critical that we maximise the ability to benefit everyone in the community including the employers who are being so heavily impacted. In simple terms our goals and objectives are to:
- Prepare Members for Re-employment – With that which is likely to be a highly competitive market, in terms of job applications, for at least the next nine months, the above will be achieved through the regular online training and development sessions, as well as the mentoring and support given by industry subject matter experts and leaders
- Engage with Other Industries to Widen the Catchment – Many individuals will have plenty of transferrable skills and it is the goal is to engage with employers in other industries such as; Facilities Management; Supermarkets / Retail; Manufacturing and Construction
- Provide Weekly Updates on New Career Opportunities / Job Vacancies – By working with every business in our sector and the other industries that representatives have engaged with, the community will have access to and have greater visibility of vacancies and opportunities. Our goal is for the community to be the first port of call for anyone who is looking to recruit or implement job roles that were made redundant
- Implement a Weekly Re-employed Dashboard – A rolling tally of the total number of people who have joined the community will be shown alongside the ongoing total of positions refilled
Workload Distribution
Each week one business within the food service market will be invited to run three webinars; two where subject matter experts will give their own advice and coaching; the other where the business can update the community on its own progress and activities. All meetings, training sessions, job vacancy updates and employer engagement will be managed by the representatives. Any queries or matters of interest should, in the first instance, be addressed to the support team at contact@foodservicecircle.com
